Real Wedding :: Paper Flower Power

Saw this not too long ago and thought "What a funky way to decorate the altar -and cost effective at that". Then once I actually looked at the entire wedding I was even more in love with their whimsy. I'm a sucker for an authentic couple. Clients often ask "What's the tradition for _____" (fill in the blank) to which I reply: Umm, I'm not going to tell you :o) -You tell me what you would like to do and we'll make it happen.

Brides and grooms need to forge their own way, make their own traditions and let the things they love inspire them to create an original event that is unique to them. Just like this couple in did in the images below. Oh, and... I just LOVE the multi-colored bridesmaid dresses...what do you think?

Luxe Idea :: Butterfly Bouquet

Clients often ask our opinion on what type of decor to have, what colors would be a good accent, should they have candles, do they______, should they_______, can they____...just fill in the blanks. We get asked questions daily about tradition to compared to non-tradition and they one thing I say over and over is that we encourage our couples to forge their own traditions, make their wedding unique and original, make their own traditions.

That said, one new trend we are loving is the non-floral bridal bouquet, like this one below. Fresh, unique and original. Your bouquet doesn't have to be $150+ it can be $20+; a little inspiration and imagination and voila! Images found Via Armas Design

Trash the Dress :: Scott McNamara Photography

So, the thought of actually "trashing" my wedding gown makes me cringe, I love that dress and it was so expensive that I'll be damned if I'll be trashing it anytime soon, or ever for that matter. However, many modern brides love the idea. Personally it's not for me but I do love the artistry in the photo shoots for sure. The dirt coupled with refined couture is so opposite that it looks killer paired together; it's like the "ying and yang" or the "opposites attract" kind of theory. Well, today's post is all about whom I think is the master at Trash the Dress (TTD) and that mastermind is our very own preferred partner, Portland Wedding Photographer Scott McNamara. His work is always aweinspring and just truly creative. One of the most creative vendors we work with by far. Love this guy. His clients adore him too. Easy to work with and at a price point that is hard to say no to. So if you are in the market for a kick ass wedding photographer and you are even slightly interestred in a TTD sesh, then I say look no further my friend and contact Scott McNamara :: 503-863-0303

Luxe Style :: Wedding Inspiration Board :: Cocktails & Caviar in Black & White

I say this has to be one of my very favorite Luxe Style Ideas as I am a "black and white" kinda bride. This Cocktails and Caviar Wedding Inspiration Board is so sassy, elegant, rich and refined as black Damask in it's regal and commanding print raises the bar when used as an accent for any event. This monochromatic Luxe Style suggestion could be suitable for a day event however much more appealing for an evening one.

Damask is so Vogue for weddings and is best displayed in it's oversize and graphic form done in bold contrasting colors or light and bright tones. Black and white is one of the most striking color palettes and so easy to pull off.

Think wedding at the Plaza in New York or think city chic in an urban and industrial restaurant or loft space. Clean and expressive lines are all you need to spice up this event. Serve some sparkling martinis topped with Prosecco in jet colored glasses and keep the floral one color to evoke that insanely captivating sense of intrigue. Classic looks in your attire and a vintage or retro inspired dress will suit you best for a sophisticated affair every guest will remember.

Most all photos found on Brides including the stationary on black reptile tray, escort card table with perfect black mini urns and also the stunning cake. Images on the bottom right starting with the shoe is from Erin Chris Photography and the cocktail photo by Robert Evans. Now the dress image is from the talented and ultra chic wedding dress designer, Matthew Christopher.
