Luxe Style :: October Entertaining ::Cocktails and Bones :: Halloween Eve Cocktail Soiree!

Ok so this year I am totally into Black and White Halloween decor. Ghostly white, haunting Mercury glass and midnight black with just a few touches pumpkin and cider. This Luxe Style idea is to have a Halloween Eve Cocktail Soiree. So many people have Halloween Night parties but why not couple their party with your Halloween EVE soiree to get the cauldron bubbling I've got the perfect mix of style ideas for her here!

Start the soiree off by telling guests this is not a costume party rather a festive pre-Halloween event to you spiced up for the big day!

Here are those detail we love!

Cocktails and Bones Halloween Eve Soiree ::
This soiree has deadly swank written all over it.

Skull and cross bones integrated into all decor items spreads this theme throughout the house. Use edgy votive holders, ghostly white pumpkins and devilish dishes of vintage mercury glass. Compliment these items with shiny cocktail accessories along side plump orange pumpkins and bloody Halloween Sangria.

::How to pull the details together ::

:: Pottery Barn this year has so many skull and cross bone items including the mercury glass. Which is where the scary martini shaker and the silver pumpkins in the photo came from.

:: Purchase white albino pumpkins from your local farmers market or neighborhood farm (grocery store should have them too, but try to support your local farmer first.) They look killer carved and lit, line the albinos up your entry way and interchange them with an abstract sized regular ole' orange one. White, orange, white orange...and so on and so on...

:: For added visual appeal, only carve scary faces in one of the colors and then carve the same pattern in each of the alternating color. i.e.: carve faces in all the white and only carve dots (or shape of your choice) in the orange ones for a variegated look. {P.S. the albino pumpkins are great for baking too!}

:: Continue your white pumpkin look inside too, however don't carve all and group together in odd numbers for a concentrated effect. Use mini white pumpkins for votive holders and spray silver glitter on them for added sparkle.

:: Use what nature's got fallen outside. Pick up loose or fallen branches and bring to bunch together for your rotten table top centerpiece. Spray black paint on branches for darker rotten look and hang paper bat cutouts from the branches or make a paper bat garland. You can even use a large plump pumpkin as a vase for the branches, just make sure to cut the hole small so branches don't fall and loose their erect shape.

:: Grab Martha Stewart's Halloween Pom Pom kit in black and silver from your local retailer to hang from ceiling. For a fun look not only create and hang poms over your main dining table but also hang above coffee tables and end tables. Always group in alternating colors and in odd numbers and sizes for the best visual appeal.

:: For easy entertaining make a batch of Bloody Halloween Sangria and serve in a glass beverage dispenser or a black cauldron from Target for added scare.
The recipe is easy just mix all together:
:: blood red wine like cab or syrah and spiced dark rum {3 parts wine 1 part rum}
:: peeled grapes,oranges and peaches
For best results use red grapes for the best bloody eye ball look and squeeze your other fruits before you add to the punch for a more "mangled" look. Mix all ingredients together and
and serve with a few chunks of dry ice for a smokin' and bubbly effect.Make sure to chill the mix in the fridge and serve icy cold for best flavor.

:: Hit up Plum Party online for skull tea light holders like the ones in the photo on the top right. You can find so many different skull themed items on Plum Party online.

:: Pour your hard liquors from a hand etched skull decanter like the one online from Plum Party. Or snag one of the Pottery Barn skull items, they have so many and they'll definitely spice the event up with their charm and quality. Make sure to add some Halloween straws next to your beverage area for guests to use.

:: Put the finishing touches on your Cocktails and Bones decor with some glittered skull heads from Martha Stewart online like the one in the picture above.

:: Serve spicy red hot chicken wings and provide a mercury bowl or two for carnage as your guests finish their wings but don't forget to provide black and white skull napkins! You can find or create your own personalized party napkins and favors from one of my favorite sites, For Your Party {.com} you can check out their blog for quote ideas to add to your designs.

:: Don't forget the most important thing...what you'll where! No problem you can buy the hottie little skull t-shirt from one of my favorite stores online at Pin Up Girl Clothing. Then accessorize with a Tarina Tarantino lucite necklace and you'll be a the witch of the hour for sure {wink*} P.S. I HEART Tarina Tarantino, if you have yet to check her out you MUST!
